One summer afternoon I had the pleasure of being invited to a photowalk in New Jersey. I remember that I wasn’t in the most outgoing mood when the event started so I didn’t make an attempt to take any photos at all. I basically kept to myself, just hung around on the perimeter and enjoyed watching the models & photographers interact, laugh and shoot . Then I noticed Cadienne. She had arrived a short time after everything had started and after shooting with a couple of the photographers she was just standing off to one side. As you can see from the photos her denim outfit was very low key and casual but I was drawn to the quiet graceful vibe she gave off so I approached her and asked to snap a couple photos. After taking a couple of shots I thanked her and she went back to the group and I went back to my spot on the perimeter satisfied that I had used my camera at least once that day so I didn’t waste the trip from Brooklyn to New Jersey. As the day went on awhile I noticed that every few minutes Cadienne would be quietly standing alone virtually unnoticed, it didn’t really make sense to me that someone that looks like Cadienne could be standing alone at a photo shoot with no cameras pointed at her even though there were photographers everywhere. So I asked her to shoot again, she agreed and we moved to a spot that I felt would look good with her outfit. Then for the next 20 minutes or so we had a smooth fun one on one photoshoot.
Here are the results.
When we reached the end of the grass she turned to me, smiled, stretched her arms out wide and said in a quiet raspy voice tinged with a Latin accent "WELCOME TO MY HEAVEN" then she literally whirled around and went out to the asphalt area where the music was playing and started dancing. she morphed from one dance style to the next with each style merging seamlessly with the rhythm of the music. Hip Hop, Salsa, Freestyle, African Dance you name it and she probably did it
